Meet the 2024 Billion Acts Fellows: Pioneers of Peace and Change

The Billion Acts Fellowship supports changemakers creating innovative solutions for a better world by providing mentorship, funding, and a global network of like-minded leaders. As we open applications for the 2025 cohort, we celebrate our 2024 Fellows—leaders whose passion and dedication inspire us daily. Could you or someone you know be the next Fellow?

Here's a look at the incredible individuals who paved the way this year. 🌟

🌱 Adnan Jabar and Jake Shapiro – Tech2Peace
Adnan and Jake are part of Tech2Peace, an initiative that bridges divides between young Palestinians and Israelis through high-tech training and conflict dialogue. Since 2017, they have empowered over 1,400 youth and launched hundreds of cross-border collaborations, exemplifying how technology and peacebuilding can go hand in hand.

🌟 Blessing Chime – 100 Million Campaign
Blessing is a beacon of hope, working with UNICEF and local agencies in Liberia and Ajegunle, Nigeria, to combat child labor through educational workshops. As part of the 100 Million Campaign, she unites youth across communities to fight poverty and exploitation. Her grassroots efforts have empowered vulnerable children and created opportunities for transformative change.

🌍 Carolina Mueller and Katherine Un – One Million Acres for the Future
Together, Carolina and Katherine lead "One Million Acres for the Future," a grassroots movement founded in 2021 advocating for policy changes in the 2023 Farm Bill. By working with 100 current and aspiring farmers, they aim to facilitate equitable access to one million acres of land, recognizing its critical importance to the environment, economy, and marginalized communities.

🌊 Carlos Eduardo Perez Murcia – Sustainable Ocean Alliance
Carlos is a visionary committed to ocean conservation and a leading activist in preserving Colombia's marine waters. Through underwater clean-ups and coral restoration projects, he works to preserve ocean life in his community. Carlos has been a vital member of the Sustainable Ocean Alliance, the world's largest network of next-gen leaders creating solutions for the largest challenges facing our ocean.

🗽 Vanessa Tsehaye – One Day Seyoum
Vanessa, a peacebuilder since childhood, founded "One Day Seyoum" at 16. Named for her uncle, an unjustly imprisoned journalist in Eritrea, the initiative advocates for the release of journalists and connects Eritrean refugees to volunteers, online resources, webinars, and study and career guidance. Vanessa's unwavering commitment has sparked a movement that transcends borders, standing as a voice for those often silenced in Eritrea and around the world.
