PeaceJam Curriculum
PEACEJAM CURRICULUM
What would the world look like if everyone studied the lessons and examples of Nobel Peace Laureates from a young age? How would these experiences alter the ways in which we all approach conflict - from an interpersonal to an international level?
These were the kind of questions that guided Dawn Engle and Ivan Suvenjeff while launching the curriculum of PeaceJam. They believed that such an endeavor could transform the world. PeaceJam's exciting standards-based curricula introduces young people to the lives and work of Nobel Peace Laureates in an interactive, hands-on format that fosters 21st century and leadership skills, identity development, conflict resolution, service-learning, citizenship, and celebration of diversity. It is designed to stand alone as a curricular unit or as a complement to existing curricula or programs.
Each PeaceJam program includes curricular activities that enhance both the academic and social-emotional skills of participating students, fostering the essential skills necessary to create positive change in the world. To date, over 1.3 million youth have engaged with PeaceJam curriculum and service projects.
