How to Join Shirin Ebadi in the #UntilWeAreFree Movement: 8 ways to Take Action
Hey there, change-makers! Billion Acts is championing an exciting campaign centered around the captivating documentary "Shirin Ebadi: Until We Are Free." This film sheds light on the remarkable journey of Shirin Ebadi, this film tells the inspiring story of Shirin Ebadi, a human rights lawyer and activist who fights tirelessly for justice and equality in Iran. It's a powerful reminder of the importance of speaking out against oppression and standing up for what's right.
Shirin is on a mission to raise awareness about the political movements happening in Iran, and has partnered with Billion Acts and the PeaceJam Foundation to raise consciousness of this history-making struggle. By watching the film and hosting screenings of this film each of us can continue to shed a light on Shirin’s fight for social justice in Iran. I am inviting you to join us on this empowering journey and contribute your reflections to support the cause.
Before getting started if you haven’t seen the film stream it here. Now that you’ve seen the film you must be wondering “how do I take action if I’m not in Iran?” Here are 8 ways you can take action and participate in our campaign:
Write Your Own Blog Entry:
- Start by putting your thoughts into words! Share your insights, emotions, and personal takeaways from the film by crafting a blog entry. You can discuss the impact it had on you, the key issues it addresses, or how it inspired you to take action.Your blog post ideally would be about 500-1000 words and can be sent directly to me at community@peacejam.org to be reviewed and edited. Create a Vlog: Preparing for a Screening:
- Get your camera ready and create a vlog that captures your preparation process for hosting a screening of the film. Share your excitement, set up your space, and discuss why it's essential for others to watch and engage with "Shirin Ebadi: Until We Are Free." Provide tips and guidance for hosting a successful screening.
Reflection Video: Share Your Perspective:
- Lights, camera, reflection! Create a video where you share your perspective on either a specific part or the entirety of the film.
