About this Act
Carlos Eduardo Perez Murcia is a passionate educator, mentor, scientist, and founder of the Sustainable Ocean Alliance. Carlos began scuba diving at an early age, a process that opened his "eyes, mind, and heart to the treasures hidden below the water surface. My family, role model professors, and our current biodiversity situation have inspired me to be committed to ocean conservation. Scuba diving is for me one of the best windows for people to understand the delicate and wonderful planet that we share. Working with little kids keeps me optimistic because I have been witness to their power to build awareness and pursue a better world."
These experiences led him to the creation of the Sustainable Ocean Alliance, an organization focused on global ocean conservation through youth leaders & entrepeneurs.

OUR MISSION: Sustainable Ocean Alliance activates young people, develops and implements innovative solutions, and mobilizes the global movement to restore the health of the ocean in our lifetime.
OUR PROGRAMS: Founded in 2014, SOA has cultivated the world's largest network of next-gen leaders, entrepreneurs, advocates, mentors, and partners—all working to create solutions for the largest challenges facing our ocean.
Causes:
Ocean Entrepreneurs: The Ecopreneur Network is a program of lifetime support that assembles the world's most ambitious ocean ventures, and amplifies their efforts to achieve transformative planetary impact.
Youth Leadership: Supporting the world's largest global network of Ocean Leaders.
