About Us

The Literacy Club’s mission is optimizing the future of our children by cultivating community and promoting reading. Books have a power beyond just telling a story; a book doesn’t care about your race, economic status, gender, sexual orientation, or even your age. Books give everyone the ability to dream and believe outside our limits. Getting new books into the hands of the children and families who need and want them is our passion. We work every day to seed the book deserts, in hope that one day we will eliminate them completely. We do this by creating custom-built libraries filled with books and installing them in key locations where the need is great and the access to books is limited. We identify the locations in partnership with community leaders, law enforcement or other community organizations. These little free libraries are created to remove the barriers many families have in getting access to books. These are not just bookshelves, because each libra
