The 100 Girl Project aims to empower each Juliette Low Seminar (JLS) 2019 participant to give 100 (or more) girls aged 12+ more opportunities to practise leadership and see themselves as leaders. The JLS is a leadership event for Girls and Young Women organized by the World Association of Girl Guides (WAGGGS) since 1932.
Through this project, participants are required to organize their own community action programme related to the JLS theme, Lead Out Loud. Each project with its own unique goal qualifies as an Act of Peace. This project focuses on gender barriers to leadership (the embedding of the WAGGGS Leadership Model) and SDG5. Participants can add community action, advocacy, or social entrepreneurship activities as further outcomes of their projects but this is optional.
