Xochitl Guadalupe Cruz Lopez

At 8 years old, Xochitl invented a solar powered device to heat water using only recycled materials. There is no money in her community to buy heaters so they chop down trees for firewood causing other problems. Her family helped her set up the device on their roof and have been using it ever since. Her invention caught attention and she was recognized by UNAM's institute of Nuclear Sciences and ICN recognition for women from the University of Mexico. PAUTA program is mentoring Xochitl to inspire her to continue her work.
