Join us on June 21st for a free global screening of PeaceJam's newest Nobel Legacy Film, "Shirin Ebadi: Until We Are Free." This screening is the first in a two-part global event series over the summer of 2023. Over a decade ago, Dr. Shirin Ebadi stood alongside nine fellow Nobel Peace Laureates and thousands of youth to launch the Billion Acts movement. Dr. Ebadi, the first Muslim woman to ever receive the Nobel Peace Prize, has served to inspire millions around the globe through her work as a human rights lawyer defending women and children against a brutal regime in Iran.

Today, she remains a global leader in the struggle for democracy, peace, and women’s rights around the world. Since becoming a member of the PeaceJam Foundation in 2004, she has shared her spirit for justice with youth leaders around the world - leaving lasting impressions across generations of young peacebuilders.

Until We Are Free tells Shirin Ebadi’s story of courage and defiance in the face of a government out to destroy her, her family, and her mission: to bring justice to the people and the country she loves. The Iranian government would end up taking everything from Shirin Ebadi – her marriage, her home, even her Nobel Prize medallion – but the one thing it could never steal was her spirit to fight for justice and a better future for the women of Iran.

The film is now being featured in film festivals around the world and has already won Best Documentary and Best Director awards in Chile, Sweden, Turkey, India, France, Indonesia, and Germany.
