About this Event
Two days ago, I celebrated my birthday. However, 2 weeks before to it, I launched a campaign I called, “Transform Lives With 1K” during which I invited my friends and family to contribute only UGX 1,000 (USD 0.26) towards a cause to procure a hair shaving machine for children at the Manna Rescue Home.
This machine was to be delivered (on my birthday) alongside other food and non-food items which I had already mobilised for. I called the general project / outreach, “We Are For You”.
The Manna Rescue Home located in the Fort Portal City of Uganda, provides care and housing to vulnerable children living with HIV, most of whom are orphans.
By the end of the two weeks, I had raised UGX 630,000 (approximately $165) which I used to buy not only a hair shaving machine but also bedsheets, in addition to all the other items. The project / outreach happened on Friday 14th October and it was a great success.
