Our world is often a place of judgement, criticism and bias which influences how people look at themselves and judge others. Children brought up in negative environments do not usually build positive self images. When people are functioning and responding from a place of self doubt and low self worth they are usually feeling guarded, criticized and in fight mode. Our society has become a place of critical and even violent reactions to others often stemming from feelings of low self worth and not feelings of acceptance and love.
When children and adults learn to see with their heart, they first build a view of self love. Everyone has a value, no matter what they have done or where they are in life. Once they change the way they look at themselves, they then begin to look at the world differently.
The See with your Heart program is all about teaching young people that they are valued and to look at themselves with love and then move to looking at the world with their heart. If we teach children that they are good just as they are and build of self worth, they then will begin to see others as good and respond with their heart,
I would like to develop a program where young and old alike can discover how to see themselves with love and then the world with love. I work in the mission field and incorporate way of loving in my visits to impoverished countries. When I tell those I visit that I have traveled to be with them because they are important to me, it changes our interactions and they feel valued. I am working on the concept of making this an actual course which could be used in schools, organizations ect.
