About this Act
Sankofa Empowering Women in Ghana (SEWING) is the only international program advocating against child labor and female exploitation in the Kayayei labor cycle in Ghana. It is an entrepreneurship and skills training fellowship program focusing on promoting sustainable economic opportunities while also mitigating the detrimental environmental consequences caused by the fast-fashion industry. Reaching hundreds of thousands of people worldwide, SEWING has 7 international partners, has supporters from 23 countries, and has been featured at the 2022 World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates.
