PeaceJam at American University presents "Open Mic Night" in support of the Shirin Ebadi Foundation! Come show us your talents and help us support the ongoing work of Nobel Peace Laureate Shirin Ebadi.
Dr. Ebadi, the first Muslim woman to ever receive the Nobel Peace Prize, has served to inspire millions around the globe through her work as a human rights lawyer defending women and children against a brutal regime in Iran.
Today, she remains a global leader in the struggle for democracy, peace, and women’s rights around the world. Since becoming a member of the PeaceJam Foundation in 2004, she has shared her spirit for justice with youth leaders around the world - leaving lasting impressions across generations of young peacebuilders.
