we at BWERA GENERAL HOSPITAL/GREAT LAKES PEACE CENTRE are passionate about implementation of SDG that have direct impact within our indigenous community specifically taking on #SDG3
we are strategically carrying out specific interventions to scale up and look for the misssing millions of people with hepatitis b,our most effective and efficient way is scaling up
intergrated out reaches by screening community people in different community a model called focused community group FCG’s like out reaches in the market places, school visits ,home visits and worshiping places like mosques & churches
we carry out static or facility based client screening for those facilities that are with in our mapping areas in different constitues and sub counties
its from these scaled up out reaches that we are able to reffer these clients to health centre iii/iv to be further reffered to hospitals that the health workers can further screen them ,health inform ,educate and communicate about the burden of hepatitis b
the clients can investigated for cbc ,viral load and other therapeutic manangement
we are carrying out sensitization and a awareness at different points like community engagement ,given opportunity at burial places and wedding to reach out to people
we have developed refferal letter for our mobilisers in community who give clients refferel letters for screening and care ,management and treatment
we have periodically participated in world health hepatitis day in uganda every ?28/7?/
since 2016 to date
we conduct health workers and community stake holders like politicians and religious leader meetings to inform, educate, communicate IEC compact model
we are working with few health facilities that offer vaccination services to reffer them there and we at GREAT LAKES PEACE CENTRE are able to make orders on behalf clients for the vaccines
we are able to store the vaccine at facilities with EPI storage and vaccine carrier these further provide technique expertise of vaccinatimg these clients
we very much look foward to see our selves make humble contribution to finding missing millions of people with hepatitis b
we have been able to reach out about 1350 youth in the year 2017 to june/2018
the general number that we have been able to reach out to in our program is more than 2000
our limitations are about adequate suppplies and logistics both in public and private non for profit PNFP health service providers
we shall need to intervene in areas of mother to child transmission as the infection can be transmitted to unborn child
we are encouraging social behavial change SBC among general populations including keY populations like commercial sex workers ,trucker drivers ,drug users, homosexuals ,people in uniform, adolescents and youth
