About this Act
Nobel Peace Laureate & Iranian human rights defender Shirin Ebadi is calling upon us to learn how we can support the women of Iran.
How to participate in this Act:
Learn more about the courageous work of women leaders across the Middle-East and North Africa before, during, and following the rise of the Arab Springs.
- Read "Unfinished Revolution", a 2022 report from the Nobel Women's Initiative that draws on the experiences and insights of 15 women activists, profiling the courage and contributions of women human rights defenders in the Middle East and North Africa region.
- Share the report with your club/community and discuss the different visions, challenges, and strategies utilized by the women.
- Listen to and share the video-recordings from the leaders themselves: Omaima Al Najjar Saudi Arabia, Mozn Hassan (Egypt), Mariam Jalabi (Syria), Muna Luqman (Yemen), Yanar Mohammed (Iraq), Nasrin Sotoudeh (Iran).
