Every year, I choose a (social-impact) cause to dedicate my birthday to, and this year, I chose to share 14 hugs with two "differently abled" children in Fort-Portal, Uganda, by procuring wheelchairs for them. To me, these chairs are not just meant to facilitate the children's mobility but also offer them a newfound sense of dignity, independence and inclusion.
I am delighted to write that, I was able to procure the wheelchairs and other general domestic supplies which were delivered by two of my friends - because I am currently not in Uganda (which is home). Some friends supported this cause by contributing generously towards it and verily, their compassionate contributions made a world of difference to the recipients and their families. This achievement shows the power of collective action and the impact that a small act of kindness can have on
people's lives.
Having acquired permission from their families, I will attach some pictures of our beautiful
beneficiaries to this Act so we all can share the joy.
Changing the world together: one act at a time
